Tracy Russ, an accountant with Horizon Business Solutions (Horizon), says that in 2011 the small business health care tax credit saved their clients a total of $ 34,776. Out of 100 clients Russ says 16 received the credit. And while preparation for the credit does require a little extra work for both the client and the accountant, Russ says ?On average, it takes 1 to 1.5 hours,? a small time investment for such savings.

Few businesses are taking advantage of the credit and Horizon is encouraging small businesses and tax-exempt organizations to do so. ?Most other CPA firms do not have the internal knowledge to easily calculate the credit,? says Russ. Still, businesses that were eligible but neglected to claim the credit in 2010 can still claim it by filing an amended 2011 return.

According to the IRS, the credit can translate into as much as $ 30,000 in savings over a three year period. The credit is for small businesses and tax-exempt organizations. Small businesses are defined as businesses that employ 25 or fewer workers with average incomes of $ 50,000 or less.

Here?s how it works: small employers who pay at least 50 percent of health insurance premiums for employees qualify for a credit of up to 35 percent of the premiums paid for tax years 2010 to 2013. Tax-exempt organizations are eligible for a credit of up to 25 percent of premiums paid. Beginning in 2014, the credit will go up to 50 percent of premiums paid for small businesses and 35 percent of premiums paid for tax-exempt organizations.

?I think it?s a great credit,? says Horizon?s Russ, adding that while it is not a dollar for dollar credit, ?the client is still ahead.?

Concerns over the potential impact of health care reform on small businesses have prompted the formation of several nonprofit small business advocacy groups, including the Small Business Majority. The New York Times quoted a study conducted by the group which concluded that half of companies with nine or fewer workers do not currently provide employee health coverage. The group concluded that many of the new changes benefit small businesses by helping them afford health benefits for their workers. The small business health care tax credit is one of the benefits to small business owners and tax-exempt organizations.

According to the New York Times, the group?s chief executive, John Arensmeyer says, ?Small businesses want to be part of the system, adding, ?They don?t want to shirk their responsibilities,? But, ?the system needs to be fixed.?

While the tax credit provides a great benefit for many small businesses it is not without problems. Horizon?s Russ warns, ?One problem lies with family stipulations. You can?t include members of a family working for a business?.With small businesses it is common for family members to work there, so they typically don?t qualify for this reason.?

Still, the tax credit can provide relief for many small businesses and tax-exempt organizations and it is scheduled to provide even greater relief over the next 3 to 5 years. Horizon encourages both small business owners and other tax preparers to take advantage of any opportunities to keep help keep small business viable and to increase profits.

I have tried those “free survey scams” never made a dime. I know it takes money to make real money. Why lie, we both know you never tried the program because my internet business is not even launched yet. The link you submitted does not work. Have you tried talking to some of his unsatisfied members — like the ones who dropped out? Sorry, they probably won’t give you those names and contact information.

Rather than try to figure out what the actual link is or actual mentor group is, I did some research on Passport to Wealth, which is a prelude to this ‘my internet business’ site that you have mentioned.

Darren Gaudry is the mastermind behind PPTW – and MIB.
PPTW is a high priced program, selling outdated software for $ 997. There is no residual in selling one time sales of anything, so you are forced to constantly search out new buyers.

I’ve seen the sights that say you can get into MIB free, but then read further where you have to join PPTW first and then you are grandfathered in to the second free. Two different sites by two different ‘mentor teams” make this claim, mentor 4 u is just another team name. One site says that if you don’t join PPTW, then you will pay the higher prices for MIB. Can’t help wonder what the cost of that will be.

That’s a great fear of loss technique that many use…
The big question for me is this: If PPTW is so successful as so many of his followers claim, why does he need to create a spinoff of another company? Some people just love jumping on the ‘pre-launch bandwagon’. Get in before anyone else does…. get in at the top..

There is another company like the normal MLM, Arddys. They basically sell body slimmers. I am Avon Rep and there is room to make quick money but you have to be willing to put yourself out there and I think you can especially if you are not working. With any MLM product that you are trying to sell from home there are normally start fee. The more the start up fee the more money you make with the company. Example Mary Kay start up fee $ 100 and the average order is about $ 50 you get 50%; Avon start up cost $ 10 average order $ 25 you get 40%. Arddys start up fee $ 300 average order $ 100 you get 50%.

The number of nursing home admissions for working age people (age 18-64) in the USA has increased. Minimal attention has been given to examining their participation in the admission decision. We use a conceptual framework proposed by Ong and colleagues to examine patient and provider predictors of perceived involvement in the admission decision and their relationship to both knowledge and preferences for continued care. In-person interviews were conducted with an admissions cohort of 205 working age individuals in 17 Maryland, USA nursing homes. Similar to previous profiles, participants were predominately male, of minority ethnic status, and of lower socioeconomic status. Common clinical conditions included cardiac disease (49.8%) and diabetes (27.3%). Slightly over half reported a lot (42.1%) or a moderate (15.2%) level of involvement in the admission decision, while 27.9% reported no involvement. Patient race, insurance source and knowledge of the health care decision maker were related to perceived involvement. Minority ethnic group patients were less likely to be aware of alternate settings for care, while patients who knew the medical decision maker were more aware of alternate settings, as well as their expected length of stay. Participants who perceived greater involvement in the decision more often preferred continued care in the nursing home, relative to their own home or other settings. Ethical, practical and legal concerns support involving individuals in this health care decision. Ways to foster improved communication and interpersonal relationships between patients and their health care provider(s) are thus required.
